End-User License Agreement
Terms for using the PlaintiffDesk application and its connected services.
Last updated October 13, 2026Who these terms cover
LawAutomated provides the PlaintiffDesk service. These terms describe use by an organization and the people it authorizes. A person accepting terms for an organization must have authority to do so.
An executed customer agreement, order form, data-processing agreement, or business associate agreement governs the matters it covers and takes precedence over conflicting provisions here. These terms do not replace those agreements or create a business associate agreement.
Permission to use the service
Subject to the applicable agreement and authorized subscription, PlaintiffDesk grants the organization and its authorized users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access the service for the organization’s business activities. Access is limited to the features, users, and configuration made available to that organization.
The organization controls which personnel receive access and the permissions assigned to them. Users must protect their sign-in credentials, use their own accounts, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
Customer data and instructions
The organization retains its rights in the records and other content it provides. It is responsible for its authority to upload, use, and share that content, including any required notices, permissions, and professional obligations.
The organization permits PlaintiffDesk and its service providers to process that content as necessary to provide, support, and protect the agreed service and carry out authorized instructions. This permission does not transfer ownership of customer records to PlaintiffDesk.
Acceptable use
Do not access another organization’s information without permission, evade access controls, share accounts, introduce malicious code, use the service unlawfully, or disrupt its operation. Security testing requires prior authorization and an agreed scope.
Do not upload information to a feature or external integration unless the organization has confirmed that the destination and applicable agreements are suitable for that information. Do not send protected health information through the QuickBooks integration.
QuickBooks and other connections
An authorized administrator decides whether to connect an external service and which account or company to authorize. QuickBooks authentication and authorization take place with Intuit; users should not provide their Intuit password to PlaintiffDesk.
Connected accounting workflows may read account and reference information and submit supported transactions that users choose to send. Users are responsible for reviewing company selection, field mappings, account assignments, recipients, descriptions, amounts, and resulting entries. Connecting does not by itself promise complete or automatic two-way synchronization.
External providers have their own terms, charges, security practices, and availability. Disconnecting an integration is separate from deleting previously created records or canceling either subscription. To revoke the Intuit connection, use QuickBooks’ integration management controls.
Professional and AI-assisted work
PlaintiffDesk and Jane are technology tools, not a law firm or a substitute for legal, accounting, medical, or other professional judgment. They do not establish an attorney-client relationship. AI-generated work may be inaccurate or incomplete.
Users must check sources, review drafts and calculations, and verify consequential actions before relying on or sending results. Users remain responsible for court deadlines, filings, client communications, financial records, and other professional duties.
Availability, changes, and support
Features and integrations can vary by organization and configuration. Service levels, support arrangements, fees, warranties, and any limits of liability are governed by the applicable customer agreement and applicable law; website descriptions do not create additional guarantees.
Changes to these terms will be identified by an updated version or effective date when approved and published. Material contractual changes remain subject to the notice and acceptance requirements of the applicable agreement.
Suspension, termination, and records
Access may be suspended or ended as permitted by the customer agreement, including to address unauthorized use or a material security risk. Contractual notice and other applicable legal requirements continue to apply.
Data export, return, retention, and deletion are handled under the customer agreement and applicable legal obligations. Terminating a connection does not erase records in PlaintiffDesk, Intuit, or another connected provider. Contact the firm administrator or PlaintiffDesk to coordinate a records request.
Ownership and third-party notices
PlaintiffDesk and its licensors retain their rights in the service, software, and branding. No ownership rights are granted beyond the permission to use the service described above. Applicable open-source and third-party license terms remain in effect.
